Law Commission of India recommends that India sign up to the Hague Convention

By March 9, 2016January 29th, 2021For Business

The Times of India reports that the Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the Law Commission of India to make recommendations for accession to the Hague Convention on Child Abduction. The newspaper says that Justice Rajive Bhalla confirmed that a reference had been made to the Law Commission when giving judgment in respect of a child taken from India to England.

We are seeing an increasing number of Child Abduction cases involving children being taken from India to England.  India’s accession to the Hague Convention would be greatly welcomed.
