Celebrating Our Apprentices

Did you know that we offer apprenticeships?

At Glaisyers ETL, we’re committed to providing talented aspiring solicitors with the resources to pursue their dream career.

This National Apprenticeship Week we’ve asked three of our apprentices, Charley, Grace and Chloe, to share a bit of an insight to their time with our firm

Take a look below at how they’re gaining skills for life as part of our team!

Chloe, Business Admin Apprentice, September 2023

When I finished Sixth Form, I wasn’t too sure what I wanted my next steps to be, apart from that I knew I was interested in a career in law. I came across Glaisyers last year while I was looking into business administration as a route into law – more specifically their Business Admin Apprenticeship.
I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship; the whole team has been so welcoming and willing to help me as I’ve gotten to know how the firm operates. Each step of the way there is always someone checking if I need help and making sure I’m supported with what I’m doing. My day-to-day involves so many different tasks, such as handling confidential documents; preparing meeting rooms both for team and client meetings; welcoming visitors, such as high-profile clients; and getting involved with exciting projects.
This has been such a great experience so far. It feels really valuable to be gaining an understanding of the inner workings of a law firm before I enter into a strictly legal role.

Three words to describe my Glaisyers ETL apprenticeship: interesting, valuable, insightful.

Grace, Apprentice Solicitor, 2017/18

I joined Glaisyers ETL as a Business Admin Apprentice back in 2017/18, when a friend introduced me to the firm! Once I had completed the first course, I progressed into the Cilex Paralegal course, and now I’m on the Solicitor Apprenticeship with the Private Client department.
For people who are considering the apprenticeship route into law, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! I would also advise you to look into apprenticeships properly as a higher education route. Although rewarding, it can be full on to study while you work, so time management is key.
I’ve had a great experience over the past few years, there’s been such a wide variety of work that has now evolved into receiving bigger responsibilities. I’ve recently been able to manage my own case, which really felt like a significant milestone in my development. Each step of the way I’ve been supported by the Private Client team, who always make sure that my training is going well.

Three words to describe my Glaisyers ETL apprenticeship: Professional development, supportive, rewarding.

Charley, Apprentice Solicitor, September 2023

I joined Glaisyers ETL as an Apprentice Solicitor in their Real Estate department in September 2023. I think I was most drawn to the firm by how focused it is on younger members of staff and promoting young people at the beginning of their careers. I’m really enjoying my experience so far; I’ve been able to get involved in lots of interesting work that further my legal knowledge, such as conducting lease reports, search reports and researching case laws!
For anyone looking into higher education, I’d really recommend the apprenticeship route – especially with Glaisyers. It’s such an accessible route into a legal career, especially when compared to some of the other more popular routes. As a bonus as well, at the end of my course I’ll have gained six years of work experience as well as my qualifications! The rest of the team have been so supportive and accommodating to me, and the knowledge and skills that they have taught me is incredibly helpful.

Three words to describe my Glaisyers ETL apprenticeship: enriching, exciting and challenging.
