Employment Law Breakfast Seminar

As employment law continues to change, it’s important for businesses to stay informed. Join our seminar hosted by Natalie Howitt and Stevi Hoyle from our Employment Team on Wednesday 9th October for an overview of key legal updates set to take effect in October 2024.

We will cover stricter controls on dismissal and re-engagement practices, the creation of the Fair Work Agency to oversee workers’ rights, and extended tribunal time limits from three to six months. Additionally, we’ll discuss expanded protections for workers from day one of employment, including unfair dismissal, parental leave, and sick pay.

Other updates include the national living wage for all adult workers, a ban on unpaid internships outside of education, and reforms to zero-hours contracts. There will also be a focus on stronger equal pay and anti-discrimination laws, flexible working rights from day one, and changes to surveillance technology regulations, redundancy consultations, and the right to switch off.

We will also explore upcoming changes to sexual harassment law, including a new duty for employers to prevent harassment, and the potential for increased compensation where this duty is not met.

Join us for a concise update on these legal changes and how they will impact your organisation. We look forward to seeing you all there!
