Managing Partners Column: Building for the future

By November 6, 2014January 29th, 2021Firm news

The clocks have gone back and the evenings are drawing in. At a time of year that we should be squeezing into our festive jumpers and getting into the festive spirit ready for Manchester’s Christmas Markets I know, many of us (including myself) are already enraged over the major road works that seem to be on every route in and around Manchester. The Council tell us that this is a temporary inconvenience to the transport links of our city and should eventually result in vast improvements for everyone. So I suppose I must embrace the future whilst gritting my teeth sat in a traffic jam and please be aware if you are coming to our offices over the next few months please do organise your travel plans ahead.

The skyline of our city is also undergoing a transformation with a sea of Crane’s ascending across the city. A sign I believe to be one of prosperity as our city builds for the future. Our Residential and Development Property Partner David Burrows addresses the issue of land shortages for new housing developments in his article discussing green belts and house building for land owners.

Since my last column, I have set myself an objective to personally visit at least five of our clients every month. This is so we can learn about your business and seek to offer legal solutions that better suit your needs. This month I will be meeting 6 clients:

  • Electrical Contractors
  • Car parking business
  • Retail and wholesale clothing suppliers
  • Trailer manufacturers
  • Tax relief specialists
  • Property developers

If you are interested in meeting with me to have your say about how we provide our legal services and how we can better assist your business please get in touch. We welcome the opportunity to come and speak to you and offer this complimentary “Business & legal services review” as well as getting to know you, our clients.

Finally, since Christmas is only seven weeks away I would ask you to take the time to look at our Client Spotlight feature. This time it features long term client, Rivka Rose and her business Faith in Nature. They offer natural gifts ideas from retail outlets and direct from their website: www.faithinnature.co.uk

I know it’s early but as you won’t hear from me again till 2015 I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
