Asset protection or just asset deprivation?
This can only become more of an issue as councils struggle with rising cost of social care. Buyer beware!

The elderly and their families need to be careful when taking steps to dispose of assets to avoid claims by Local Authorities for care. There is no simple answer, whether legally or what is in the best interest of the elderly parent.  Always air on the side of caution to avoid any dispute which may worry the parents in their twilight years.
