About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Family Lawyer (circa 5 years PQE) to join our growing Family Team in Liverpool.
You will manage a varied caseload of private family law matters with a high degree of autonomy, while remaining fully supported by an experienced partner.
This role offers excellent exposure to complex and rewarding work, alongside genuine opportunities for progression and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of private family matters with minimal supervision.
- Advise clients on all aspects of family law, including:
- Divorce
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children law matters
- Cohabitation disputes and Schedule 1 claims
- Pre and postnuptial agreements
- Draft highquality pleadings, statements, agreements and correspondence.
- Conduct negotiations and advise on settlement strategy.
- Prepare for and attend court hearings, including FDRs and final hearings.
- Instruct and liaise with counsel, experts and other professionals.
- Promote and advise on noncourt dispute resolution options.
- Deliver a high standard of client care, managing expectations sensitively and effectively.
- Supervise and mentor junior members of the team where appropriate.
- Contribute to the profile of the firm.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong technical knowledge of UK family law and procedure.
- Experience managing financial remedy and private children matters independently.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.
- Confident clientfacing manner with empathy and professionalism.
- Commercially aware and pragmatic in approach.
- Wellorganised, resilient and able to manage competing deadlines.
- A team player who enjoys contributing to a collaborative environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with around 5 years’ PQE in Family Law.
- Demonstrable experience managing a private family caseload independently.
- Strong drafting and communication skills.
- Experience preparing for and attending court hearings.
