Alison Rowley

Senior Associate

Alison qualified in 1998 having trained at Rowlands in Manchester. Alison joined Glaisyers in January 2023 moving from Taylors Solicitor where she worked as a senior Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Department.

Alison has over 20 years’ experience in commercial litigation and has successfully litigated many matters as well as having a proven track record in resolving disputes in a proactive and cost-effective manner.

Alison’s expertise covers the areas listed below.

Company Disputes

Including shareholder and director disputes, breach of contract claims (including breach of warranties, indemnities, and guarantees) and enforcing retention of title claims.

Commercial Landlord and Tenant Disputes

Including dilapidation claims, service charge disputes, forfeiture and possession, service of s146 Notices and Lease renewals.

Property Disputes

Including enforcing restrictive covenants and easements, nuisance claims, boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, claims to determine the ownership of land (TALATA claims) and Defective Premises Act 1972 claims.

Professional Negligence

Including claims against Developers, Architects, Surveyors and solicitors.

Probate Disputes

Including challenging and defending claims as to the validity of a Will, claims under the 1975 Act for reasonable financial provision, challenges to lifetime gifts based on undue influence, and applications for the removal and replacement of Executors and Trustees.

Equitable and Restitution Claims

These claims provide remedies for innocent parties where no remedy exists in contract or tort and include claims for unjust enrichment as well as promissory and proprietary estoppel claims.

Outside of work, Alison is a Deputy Chair of Governors at St Michael and St Johns RC primary school in Clitheroe. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, including long walks with her dog, and she admits to being addicted to the gym, regularly attending more than 10 classes a week. Alison also enjoys watching films and eating out, hence the gym work.
