Applications Open – 20 October 2025
When applications open on 20 October 2025, you’ll be able to apply for both our 2026 Vacation Scheme and 2028 Training Contracts through our online application portal.
We recommend submitting early, as competition is high and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Training Contract 2028 – Deadline: 26 February 2026
Our Training Contract 2028 is designed for aspiring solicitors ready to begin their professional journey in Manchester.
If successful, you’ll join a close-knit team, gain hands-on experience in multiple practice areas, and receive one-to-one mentoring from experienced lawyers. You’ll typically complete four six-month seats in departments such as commercial litigation, property, corporate, employment, and private client work, giving you a solid foundation across the legal spectrum.
Important: Applications close at 23:59 on Thursday 26 February 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.
Vacation Scheme 2026 – Deadline: 26 February 2026
Our Vacation Scheme is the best way to experience life at Glaisyers ETL first-hand. Taking place in June 2026, it’s a structured week where you’ll:
- Work alongside current trainees and solicitors on real cases
- Attend workshops, Q&A sessions, and networking events
- Gain insight into our firm’s culture, clients, and career opportunities
Eligibility: You must be in your penultimate or final year of study, or have already graduated at the time of application.
Top tip: Many of our Vacation Scheme participants go on to receive offers for Training Contracts, so this is your opportunity to make a lasting impression.
Summer Vacation Scheme – 15–19 June 2026
Spend a week at our Manchester office getting a genuine taste of what it’s like to work at one of the city’s most established law firms.
You’ll shadow solicitors, contribute to live projects, and attend dedicated development sessions focused on teamwork, communication, and client care.
By the end of the week, you’ll have real insight into the work our lawyers do - and whether Glaisyers ETL is the right fit for your future career.
Assessment Days – 28 & 30 July 2026
Shortlisted Vacation Scheme candidates may be invited to attend one of our Assessment Days, held at our Manchester office. These interactive sessions are designed to evaluate your skills, legal thinking, and cultural fit through a mix of:
- Group exercises
- Written tasks
- Interviews with partners and senior lawyers
It’s also your chance to meet our people, ask questions, and see what life at Glaisyers ETL is really like.
Note: To apply, you must be eligible to commence a Training Contract in 2028.
