Julian is a Partner in our Corporate team and has specialised in corporate and commercial law since qualifying in 1987. With nearly four decades of experience, Julian advises clients across the entire business lifecycle, from start-up and growth to exit and succession. 

His expertise includes drafting bespoke high-value contracts, standard terms, employee incentive schemes and advising on business acquisitions and sales. Julian works with a wide range of clients, from first-time entrepreneurs to multinational corporations, with a strong focus on owner-managed businesses. 

He takes pride in his exceptional client retention record, many clients become long-term partners and friends. In fact, he still acts for one of his very first clients from 38 years ago. Julian’s mantra is simple: “Treat clients as you would like to be treated.” 

He’s often told he doesn’t seem like a lawyer when people first meet him, which he takes as a compliment. At heart, Julian is a businessman who happens to practice law. 

Outside of work, Julian enjoys the simple pleasures of life: pubs, music, history, the countryside and occasionally butchering songs on the guitar.
