At Glaisyers, we believe that trainee solicitors are the future fee earners and partners of the firm. We therefore give great importance to recruiting the right candidates, delivering a well-rounded training experience and encouraging trainees to remain with the firm upon qualification. We aim to offer permanent positions to all trainees upon qualification, subject to the availability in their chosen areas of work.
We offer at least one training contract each year, occasionally two, starting in Autumn. We are currently recruiting for training contracts commencing Autumn 2010. All vacancies for earlier years have now been filled.
Please note that competition for training contracts is very tough and we received more than 400 applications for the 2009 vacancy. We therefore apply stringent selection criteria for the first stage of short listing and only consider applicants with an upper second class degree (in any discipline) obtained or anticipated plus a minimum of 300 UCAS points. We also prefer candidates with connections to Manchester and the North West.
